March 11, 2024 - Florida Vacay
|
||||||
In March, Lynnette and I headed south down I-95 to Florida for a few weeks. At a rest stop in North Carolina, we recognized Vollis Simpson Whirligig. We had seen his amazing park in Wilson, NC last year: Link.
On the way down, we stopped in Kiawah, South Carolina to visit our good friends Jimmy and Cindi.
|
||||||
Their beautiful home. | ||||||
Then we continued south to Naples, Florida to spend a day with our good friends Bob (The Bro) and Andrea.

Their beautiful home. | ||||||
The view from their porch.
I'm taking full advantage.
The alligator who lives in their pond came by to pay a visit.
|
||||||
Then we headed east across Alligator Alley and up to Sebastian where we stayed a couple of weeks with Bruce and Ellen. We've done about everything there is to do in the Sebastian area so this year we mostly just hung out at the beach, or the pool, or the Tiki Bar.
Looking south down the beach.

One day Lynnette and I explored the fishing pier.
Enjoying a nice dinner at our favorite restaurant: C.J. Cannon's at Vero Beach Airport.
About to enjoy a cold Bill-Bill (Jack & Ginger).
Heading home along I-95, we stopped at a Buc-ee's, our first time visiting this establishment. It is like a giant Royal Farms/Wawa/Sheetz/Loves. I've never seen a gas station with so many pumps. The bathrooms were huge but very clean and modern. And the place was jammed! If you build it, they will come, I guess.
